Springtime Fun at Making Roots: The latest post from PegCityLovely our Brand Ambassador

Making Roots Montessori is delighted to introduce our families to Natalie Bell (also known as @PegCityLovely). Natalie is a local blogger and HR specialist who recently joined the Making Roots Montessori family along with her husband, and her son J, who attends our school. Winter's chill has subsided and spring is in the air. As much as the kids love the winter and snow, they must get sick and tired of all of those layers of clothing just as much as we parents dislike having to put them on!
J was happy to frolic at the Forks one beautiful spring day. Getting outside on the weekends is important not only to get that Vitamin D but also keep up with exploring nature and our surroundings.
Baking has also become a newfound love for J as he's been helping out at school as part of the Practical Life curriculum. He is constantly asking to bake cookies and chocolate chip muffins.
J's hand-eye coordination and dexterity as well as knowledge of counting teens has been enhanced while learning mathematics by the many different types of "work" he does at school.

This particular math work is called the Short Bead Stair.

So it was no surprise when we went to IKEA that he wanted to pick up something a little different than a "regular" toy.

In mid April, J turned 4! Where has my little baby gone? We had tons of birthday fun at Children's Museum with family and friends. He also participated in a special celebration at school.

One of the great themes at Making Roots during the Spring months included learning about the country of Italy. The children had a blast making their own Leaning Tower of Pisa’s.

As the weather heats up, Making Roots prepares for more outdoor play and excursions.
There have been several wonderful new staff additions who have made Making Roots even more welcoming than it already was. J loves to interact and joke around with his teachers. Owners Kristin and Megan were also nominated for CBC Future 40 and Women of Distinction Awards respectively, a testament to their entrepreneurial spirits.
What’s next for Making Roots? A new location in Brandon, MB for September 2016! Growth and expansion are a result of a well-run educational establishment!
