Making Roots Montessori co-founders nominated for 2016 YWCA Women of Distinction

 

Winnipeg, MB – The Making Roots Montessori Centre Inc. team are very proud to announce that co-founder Kristen Shipman-Adams and Megan Turner are nominees for the 2016 YWCA Women of Distinction Award. The award is presented annually by YMCA-YWCA in recognition of the talent, achievement, imagination and innovation of Manitoban women who have made a unique and exemplary contribution to the development of others and to their community. Past recipients include Dr. Chau Pham, Dr Patricia Martens, and Lindor Reynolds.

“We are delighted to be nominated for this award,” shared Kristen Shipman-Adams. “To be recognized among many of Winnipeg’s best and accomplished women especially in this the award program’s 40th year make this cause for celebration for our whole team at Making Roots Montessori Centre," added Megan Turner.
 
This year’s event will take place on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the RBC Winnipeg Convention Centre. Proceeds from the YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction Awards Gala support a variety of our programs that touch the lives of women, youth and children in our city.
